You may get in any of IITs but you may not get mechanical instead you may get Metallurgy. But in Univ like JNTU you can easily get but doing MTech in those univ is not worthful as doing in NITs or IITs

u must have to take two separate DDs.U have to apply separately for each department at IIT delhi
do not worry about placements in IITs. apply for all
IITs .Applied mechanics is very good at IIT delhi rather than thermal and manufacturing etc. i think u can get seat easily in applied mechanics if u do well in written test.

First of all congratulations for your achievement.
Regarding your queries here are my answers:
1)Getting design( direct admission ) is difficult.But you will be definitely hort listed for interview.
2)In IIT M there is a 25% possibility of getting design stream. Apart from IIT B & IIT M you will easily get design in other IITs.
3) Order of specialization depends on your interest but usually people from past few years preferring Design,Thermal & Manufacturing as first to third options respectively. But i suggest you to go by your own interest other wise you will land into trouble.
4) For Applied mechanics IIT D is best. For Design IIT B is best. For thermal IIT M & IIT K are best.
According my opinion you can go by preferences IIT B> IIT M or IIT K > IIT D > IIT Kgp > IIT G > IIT R
5)IIT K & IIT D conditions are extreme and IIT M & IIT B are moderate but humid. But don't see climatic conditions since all IITs have green canopy and IIT it is a different world what ever may be the city it is located.
6)Only best tip for interview is brush your basics and be very strong in fundamentals and crystal clear in your replies to the questions asked.They won't go beyond basics. Also you should be able to explain your final year project if asked.

i am not sure about your seat in IIT.
but,NITs are there and IIITs are there
Manipal university
VIT
VEDA IIT
and many more univerisites like JNTU and DCE are there. you can try anywhere on order of preference

check their websites they mention the cutoff percentage in B.Tech to apply...

I think IITM, IISc & IITKgp have cutoff less than 60% not sure but check it once in their information broucher...
