Grant-in-aid Scheme for Engineering Students.

About the Institution of Engineers:

  • The Institution of Engineers (India) is the largest multi-disciplinary body of engineers with a membership base of about 6.50 lakhs encompassing 15 disciplines.
  • The Institution, with 105 centers located in India and abroad, maintains strong functional relations with several national and international organizations.

Funding Support as part of R&D Initiatives of the Institution of Engineers:

  • For the year 2011-2012, the Institution is aiming to provide funds to 100 engineering student projects from all the zones covering various engineering branches. While the projects are welcome from any contemporary theme;   
    The following list reflects the themes of interest for the Institution –

           1.     Alternate Energy  2. Rapid Prototyping  3. Eco Architecture & Green Buildings
           4. Micro Sensors 5. Rural Technologies  6. Micro Air Vehicles  7. Mobile Computing  8. Information Security

·         To foster R&D culture in engineering colleges, the Institution is taking several initiatives including providing of grant-in-aid to engineering student projects at under graduate, PG and PhD levels.

·         Till date the Institution provided funding support to more than 150 student projects from various branches including Aeronautics, Automotive, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, IT, Mechanical, Metallurgy etc.

 

R&D Interaction Program - 24th August, 2011 for Engineering Students & Faculty.

This program would provide information to students / faculty members with reference to applying and securing funding from the Institution of Engineers. Experts would present new project ideas to the students, reflecting the latest technologies. Entry to the program is free to all faculty & the engineering students (B Tech all years & all branches / M Tech / PhD).
