Cognizance 2012 , 2nd largest technical fest of India. Three days of plethora of enthralling events. Here at cognizance we celebrate excellence, excellence not just limited to the field of technology. The theme IDEATE.INITIATE.INNOVATE.depicts the veiled wishes of every individual. Why wait all the while to follow someone when it comes to your own dreams. Events at Cognizance 2012:

Centerstage Events:

Each of these mega-events has a touch from all spheres of life. With participation from diverse backgrounds, these are surely the cynosures of the corporate sector to lay its hands upon. 

The main events under this umbrella include highly technical robotics events such as Robotron, Powerdrift and Armageddon. The International gaming event Chaos draws large participation from all over.

Online Events:

To give you a piece of the big cake called Cognizance 2012, we bring to your doorstep (literally !!) online events of Cognizance. Set yourself for a roller coaster ride which will take you through the cavern corners of the Dalal Street, dark nights of ruthless programming, whirl winding journey of a brainstorming puzzle game like you have never witnessed before and the fight of the mighty words where you will blog yourself to victory.Events such Insomnia, Blogomania, Cogni Street and Illushun are the major attractions. 

Departments:

At Cognizance ,the events are held at the departmental level, where 18 departments of IIT Roorkee organize events,mainly classified into 3 sub themes-IDEAZ, SPOTLIGHT, SPECTRUM.

Ideaz :  Hosted by each department individually, Ideaz is a national paper presentation contest where students present original research papers. Each department launches three cells of paper presentationsin prominent areas. Around 1200 papers are presented every year. The best of the papers are published in the form of Cognizance Journal which is a history in itself.

Spotlight : The brightest minds of the country participate in these long term discipline specific projects and problems. The problem is designed in such a way that it adds :Value to Sponsor, Value to Institute, Value to Society.Problems include disaster mitigation, design of wheel chair for disabled, software development etc. The solution of the problem is the property of IIT Roorkee or its sponsor.

Spectrum :  The sheer multitude of events that take place provide a challenging platform for the students to use their brains to provide practical and innovative on-the-spot solutions to different industry based problems.

Exibitions: 

Exhibitions at Cognizance 2012 offer variety of interactive display that will attract the audience to experience interactive content in the most memorable way thereby leaving an everlasting impact on their mind.

With Indian Army, DRDO, IITR Show Case, Loop,Metal Mate, Next Sapiens, TouchMagix serving the Cognizance palette last year, this year we have much more to offer.
