In view of higher education and living cost being most economical, the number of yearly Indian immigrants to Canada have swelled to more than 12,000 from a mere 3000 in 2009”, said Mr. Scot Slessor, Consul General of Canada.Mr. Slessor in his maiden visit to CGC interacted with budding professionals where he discussed the prospects of Higher education and Placement opportunities in Canada.

Mr. Slessor revealed that Canada ranks number one in G7 countries in terms of investments in higher education research and development, as a percentage of GDP. Emphasising on the level of Technology advancement in the country, he said that Canada is one of the top three most educated countries in the world. He elaborated that the reason for being the most economical education service provider is due to Government investment of public money running in billions of dollars towards Universities and Education institutions in the country.

Discussing about the placement scenario in Canada, Mr. Slessor highlighted that more than 90% pass outs from various colleges are in a position to get jobs within a short span of 6 months.

Giving tips to the students on migration to Canada, he advised them to avoid falling in the trap of fraudulent immigration consultants and instead fall back on easy information available on the internet.
